Leaving the world of Craft!

I've decided that card making/paper craft has run its course for the time being in my life and I am selling up all my craft items.

I have stepped down from Kenny K's Krafty Girlz and wish them all well with the blog and future releases.

I have a few stamps already on sale on Etsy, I may put more on there or on Ebay. For the time being, I'm listing some of the items I have for sale in the page tab above this post.

I want to thank everyone who has commented on my cards, sent me well wishes when I was going through the whole Cancer Treatment and to those who have sent me emails/craft supplies/presents in the past.

I will remember you all, and will probably still be around admiring cards etc. But for now I'm hanging up my inks, scissors, score mouse, pens, papers and glues!

I need to concentrate on my family and the wedding which I'm planning for next June!

Then I tried to upload later that day by making the post go live, but Blogger wouldnt have it. Its Sunday morning which means Kenny K's Krafty Girlz have another fantastic challenge for you!

This week was the theme of Layers! So I kept it fairly simple as sometimes cards can look messy, I kept mine clean and simple and this card is winging its way to a friend already - No sentiment as its just a 'hi how you doing' kinda card. I'm not keen on sentiments really, can you tell?

This weeks prize is a selection of Back to School ribbons from Crafty Ribbons!

I've used Star - one of my favourite Kenny K images

Criss Cross Card Tutorial

To make your own Criss Cross Pocket card you will need:

Choice of coloured A3 Card

Choice of coordinating papers (6x6)

Kenny K Image of choice (Club Kid)

Colouring medium (Copics)

Scissors/Glue/DST/Ruler/Pencil

Flowers/embellishments

Scoreboard and Score Tool

Guillotine

Start off by scoring your card. Now my way of doing this, means you do not have to attach two pieces of card together or make a smaller card so you can fit the whole thing together. My way is a bit of a cheat and you will see why in a minute.

Score your card to the size you want. My cards are usually around 15cm (just under). I will be scoring my card to 148mm.

You will notice once you score one side and the back of the card that the far side fold will be considerably shorter - Dont Panic! This is hidden when you start to stick down your card.

Take the pattered card of your choice for which you are going to place as your back ground inside of the pocket and cut it down. My card base measures 148mm x 148mm so I am cutting my patterned paper to 143mm squared to give a border when I stick it down.

Take the right hand flap and fold it over so its covering the middle patterned paper, and measure from the top right corner to the left bottom corner of the patterned base. Drawing a line with a ruler (so you can cut with Guillotine in a moment)

Then do the same for the other flap from the inner right corner to the outer bottom left.

Once you are happy that these lines are straight, cut them and they should look like this.

Take some double sided tape and run along the bottom of the centre square and stick down the flap with the bit missing....

Take the patterned paper you wish to put on the front two triangular folds and cut them down to the same size as your did for the middle panel. Once you have done this, half the paper diagonally and you should have two exact sized triangles for the folding panels.

Glue the first Right hand triangle onto the panel, once dry, place some double sided sticky along the bottom edge, This is so the Left folding panel can sit nice and snug, you will also need to glue this panel, so have some ready. here is a photo of where you should place the DST and the Glue.

Glue the second patterned paper triangle in place.

For your insert, you will need to cut the card stock down. For my card, I've gone 140mm x 135mm which means it sits snug inside the pocket. I'm cutting the patterned paper 136mm x 131mm so I have a border around the edge again. Like this:

Now you have the component of your pocket and your insert, all you have to do is decorate it, so colour your image if you've not already done so and add those flowers, trinkets, charms, ribbons and any embellishment you can think of to make it special and your own!

Snowboarding Birthday card - Say what now!

I was asked to make a Birthday card for a skier/snowboarder. This had me thinking for a while as to how to go about it and make a card not so Christmassy with a skier/snowboarder on it!

I did a Google search for an image and first started with Honey from All That Scraps, well I printed her too small when it came to putting her on the card, so I gave up with her and Google'd again, and Toby from The Greetings Farm came up. So off I toddled to TGF Central, bought him and downloaded him.

He looks not so very masculine in his purples, and hopefully will pass as a lady snowboarder lol

I've used Basic Grey Papers - Eskimo Kisses. Flowers from WOC, Sentiment stamp from Whimsy as is the die used to cut out the tickets.

Retro... Funky... Groovy!..

OooooooooTime for a card me thinks!

Over at the Kenny K's Krafy Girlz Challenge this week, the theme is LETS go RETRO!

I've not played along in many of the Kenny K's challenges, and have to admit its a shame cos all of the images are awesome. I have a fair few tucked away in a file on my pc, coloured a few, made cards with them but never blogged them as they've been tucked in envelopes and sent on their merry ways!

Well no more... I'm addicted to these girlz and boyz and you can guarantee that there is an image for what ever occasion you can be thinking of.

I've used 'All That' for this challenge, and I gave her some RETRO trousers.

I was tired of doing full colours so played around with the black copic and a the copic fine liner and hey preseto - she's got herself some funky ZEBRA pants!

I've used Basic Grey papers from the Lime Ricky pack which are just gorgeous!

Coloured the image with Copics and added some Spica Orange to her trainers to give a little sparkle.

The edge punch is MS and the sentiment is computer generated.

I had the pleasure of working with Sylvia's images when designing for Spesch Designer Stamps. Then I found more images over at Cuddly Buddly and I just had to have some!
So here she is, Suzi with Bunny!

Swirls are sizzix die cuts. Flowers from stash (the middle rose was a gift from Nancy with many others), White Picket Fence to outline the paper with, and some gems from stash to highlight the swirls.

Plain and simple card, still not a fan though!!

Boo and Snookie take on Wild Orchid Crafts!

Well I entered last week as I love using the flowers from WOC, why not again this week.

The theme is white plus 2 with a twist. I'm hoping adding my little Roses to fill out the bouquet count :o)

This here is Boo and Snookie from the Emerald Faerie collection! I am in love with these wee faeries!

They have been terribly late for a friends birthday card, but what do you expect when you ask a snail to deliver your mail...You can find Boo and Snookie here in Digi format or here in Rubber at Debs Creations (AKA Emerald Faerie Garden).

I've printed them direct onto the white linen card, and coloured with Copics.
The Sentiment is also printed direct.

Of course the flowers are all from Wild Orchid Crafts and the wee butterflies are left overs from an MS border punch.

Emerald Faerie Card and some news on an awesome candy...

Hi guys! Well, I have my new keyboard and mouse combo. So I'm just getting used to the key placement as its more compact that my old one. I also got my camera working. I found a replacement battery in the box it came with so I'm happy once again!

I've finished my card, but first before you get to the photo's I want to tell you a little about the image. The faerie is called 'Ally' and she is holding a wee ladybug! I came across this image over on Donna's blog at Bearly Mine Crafts. If your interested in buying her, or any of the others in the collecting head over to the Emerald Faerie Garden which is Debs store, there you will be able to find the Faeries and a whole lot more! They are available in Digital format and also Rubber, so what ever medium you like colouring with, you can be guaranteed to have the images how you want them!

What's also great is that from May 1st there will be a challenge blog, exclusively for these gorgeous Faeries! Check out the blog here and become a follower so you don't miss out.

Happy Easter and Quick Update...

Quick post...

I've not dropped off the face of the earth (quite yet). My keyboard for my computer died and I've been waiting for a new one for a few days. I started to make a card at the weekend and was going to do a post on Monday but I've not managed to get the card completely finished.

I'm hoping that over the bank holiday weekend I can get it finished properly. My camera has also been on charge for about a week, but as soon as I turn the camera on, it dies.. I think I maybe shopping for a new battery for it this weekend.

Kenny K's Krafty Girlz Challenge...

...this weeks theme is 'Spice it up'

Having not made a card for what seems like an eternity, I went for it. I printed out Rock Chick from the first digital collection released by Kenny K way back last year sometime in July/August.

Coloured with copics and then I had a nightmare trying to find papers I liked. I managed to find these Basic Grey ones, eventually, after going through lots of boxes and folders under my desk. They are from the 'Lemonade Collection' and one of my favourite collections by BG to date.

Sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps and can be found here as part of the Amongst the Stars Sentiments. Layered on nestie stars cut with the bug. I made a border star by using two dies at the same time, and then layered them on top of each other.

Fairly simple card, one that didn't take too long to make and one which will find its way to a cousin of mine who is a minimal is more kinda' girl.

I've just found the spring kit from Magnolia under a pile of papers destined for recycling... Had I not been keen on taking the cellophane rappers off the magazines to put the paper bits into recycling, the kit may have made a journey to the recycling plant.

Well, as some of you may have already had your kit, or wanting from the kit, I'm selling most of mine. The only stamps from the kit I'm keeping is the wheelbarrow, the butterflies and the sentiments.

OMG - How long.....

has it been since I posted on my blog! Christmas has been lovely being able to spend it with family and friends and now the New Year is over its all go again!

I'm trying my hardest to find my Mojo which has up and left me, but I think thats because my Mojo has no where to work at present. My craft corner is a bomb site - papers, ribbons, raffia, stamps, images and scraps are just littered everywhere. I'm hoping to get my Pencils out and have a play soon... I've neglected them way more than my blog, so I think I need to get the old sharpener out and the white spirit and have a play...

I've just bought some new Digital Images from The Paper Shelter... Its a new Digi Shop selling the cutest images from dragons, to girls to cute mice and cats (+ lots more)... I'm hoping that the digi's I've bought get made up into cards soon as I have a few birthdays coming up! Fingers crossed!

I've entered and I'm keeping everything crossed as I'm no longer on a team any more and I need a kick up the backside to start crafting again and keep this blog running!

Ok - I'm loving the Simply Sassy Gals from Sugar Nellie. I've read somewhere that there is going to be a blog hop soon (December 4th), to showcase set three and I'm so excited!

I'm entering this cutie into the Sugar Bowl Challenge which is another fabulous sketch and the theme of Snowflakes and the Dutch Dare Card Challenge which is Christmas Tag/Card/Ornament! - I've gone for a non traditional card.

Sugar Nellie's Simply Sassy Round 1

Karen over at Sugar Central is holding a fabulous competition, with an unbelievable prize.

I was in my dashboard earlier on and found it, and thought - yeah, I'l have a go. Haven't got a cats chance in hell of winning, but I've entered anyways!

Karen is offering one lucky person the chance to win a Spellbinder Grand Calibre! How cool is that!

All you have to do to be within a chance of winning, is get your Simply Sassy Stamps that you've bought recently from Funky Kits, ink em up, colour em, and make a WOW card, that's White on White if you didn't already know hehe!

Karen wants the cards simple to show off colouring and shading skills, and to make the Simply Sassy Gals the main feature!

Well - here is my attempt - and Karen, don't shoot me ok, I know I've cheated by adding some Lace Raffia, but I have a really, really, really good excuse! I followed one of my favourite sketches from one of the Sugar Bowl Challenges which was held in July LAST year, can you believe!

I've used plain white card for layering, and the sparkly glittered paper was from my scrap box.
Pearls were a gift from Elaine, lace raffia from Bunny Zoe Crafts.

Fab n Funky meets Totally Gorjuss Challenge

Today I've made a card shock horror!

I'm entering it into Fab 'n' Funky (anything goes) and Totally Gorjuss (must have a tree on your card - well I'm hoping that the tree paper which is the strip under the Pink raffia lace counts!)

I've used one of the new Christmas Release Lily of the Valley stamps called Wrapped in Tinsel and can be found here.

Papers are My Minds Eye and are from the Winter Wonderland collection.

Flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts (except the large blue one which is from Ladybug and Friends).

The gorgeous Pink Raffia Lace and theWhimsy Ticket Stamp were from Bunny Zoe Crafts (I also bought the die for the Whimsy Ticket Stamp from here too, they showed up today and I had to have a play!!!)

I'm joining in again with the Sugar Bowl Challenge, just because I can! I've followed the sketch, but not the colour choice - which is Black, White and one other colour. Its an optional, so I opted out!

I've used Distress Inks to colour her in (I'm just getting the hang of them now. I go through phases where I can use them and not use them) my brain switching from copics to inks goes into melt down.

I've used papers by Best Creations Inc from the Once Upon a Time collection. Glittered on one side and plain on the other. Two pink butterflies using the MS punch and some Card Candy.

This fortnight at The Sugar Bowl the sketch is a real easy one!

I decided to ink up my beloved Gorjuss Girls and get them coloured (haven't used a Gorjuss Girl in AGES!! and I do love them so!).

I've kept this card really simple, I've used Papermania paper and butterfly from the Henbury Lane Collection. Ribbon and lace from my stash and Copics to colour my images with!

Pretty simple huh?

The second Gorjuss Girl stands inside my card with the greeting!

Spesch Stamps New Release Blog Hop!

Hi everyone.

Sorry for not being around in blog land of late - I'm trying to catch up on much needed sleep and chill time, but none of that involves card making - I'm sure I'm doing something wrong!

Anyways - this evening (10pm, which is now approx 9am in Australia) I want to show you a card of the many being shown in the Spesch Designer Stamps New Blog Hop. You should have arrived to me from Maria. If you didn't check out the Spesch Designer Stamps Blog where we are kicking this hop off from!

This card was mega easy to do, and it was done like this for quickness, but also, no fuss sometimes makes the cards better! I didnt think this stamp needed much, just a splash of colour and some glamour dust!

He is 'Surfing Santa'... I think he rocks!

The image was printed directly onto card stock with the wording up top and bottom. Coloured with Copics and a small dusting of Glamour dust for effect on those awesome crashing waves!

Friday Sketchers meets SWALK

First of all, I need to say a huge THANK YOU to Elaine over at 'a Technophobes Blog' for holding a candy in honour of her son Hal as I won it and I was over the moon! I was jumping up and down on my seat (which is not good, as I'm not the smallest of people!) and looking like a right loon! Big THANK YOU to Hal too, for picking me out of the many people who won.

I've been meaning to play with the stamps, papers and goodies I won for a while now but just have not had the time. Tonight however I made time.

And here we are...

I have used my Distress Inks on this cutie which is called - S.W.A.L.K -Thinking of you! by Crafters Companion.

Bundled Sage, Stormy Sky, Wild Honey, Tea Dye, and Spun Sugar - simple huh?

The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, including the leaves and the pearl spray. The pins I had in my stash.

Papers were also in the candy I won and they are by Memory Box and are called 'Frond' and are absolutely gorgeous!

I've added some ribbon and three green gems from stash.

I am entering this into the Friday Sketchers challenge which was quick and easy to do!

O.M.Word where has the time flown to! One minute I'm at work then next in bed and then I blink and I'm back in the car on the way to work again... I'm one tired nurse at the moment. I've only just had a week off (which I spent with my family) and I'm sure I am ready for another holiday!

Today is a spesch'al day as the team for Spesch Stamps are having a Blog Hop. Its the first time I've managed to play with the team in a loooooooooong time as I've just not been able to sit, print out and image and make them into cards.

For this card I've used one of the Greetings Farm Stamps from the 'My Favourite Things' and to this guy, its obvious that he loves his dinosaurs.

I have sent this card to a blogging buddies Son, who also likes Dinosaurs, however I only found that out today!

I've used papers which were found on 'The Sweet Shoppe' site which I paid for and downloaded as I was desperately lacking papers to go with this image.

The 'prehistoric' was also part of the Digi Download. I've coloured this cute chappie with Copics.

Good Evening

This card has had my head round bends and inside out this week. I wanted a non too fussy card, plain and simple, yet I could not for the life of me achieve it. So this will have to do...

Plain white card stock which is hammered or linen

Image is a hAnglar & stAnglar from the baby collection (too cute!)

Coloured with Copics and added some laced ribbon and plain white ribbon underneath.

Flowers are from Wild Orchid Craft, the flower with the hint of Pink is from Ladybug and Friends

I've spritzed the card completely with Pearl Glamour mist for a shiny effect.

The Butterflies are from using MS Butterfly and the MS Butterfly Border punches.

I am entering this card into a few challenges

Creative Card Crew: Blooming Marvellous (I've added a BIG bunch of flowers for those pretty butterflies to live on ha ha!)

Colour Create Challenge: All White (optional extra of Embossing) Well the cards White all right - no colour bar the wee bit of pink on the flower and the image :o) I have embossed, but only around the die cuts.

All-sorts Challenge: Plain and Simple - Well I think I've achieved this and can tick the box - Its not a fussy card really!

I've made another quick card!

Lil Lolita's Ivy plays in a few challenges!

Argh!!!... There are just not enough hours in the day or week even!

Its been ages since I've been able to sit down and make a card. Even this one is a simple one which didn't take too long to do. More faffing with the hand held sewing machine than anything else caused me major time delays.

Anyways... I had to call in sick today at work. I hate doing it, but I couldn't breathe overnight, my throat felt constricted, I could hardly swallow and I kept getting hot flushes even though I was freezing cold. Been to the Drs who said I have a viral infection and have to ride it out!

I still feel like death warmed up, but Poppy went to bed early and I sat down at the PC put New Moon on, and switched off completely.

This is the first time I've inked this cutie up. I've had her in my stash since she was released by Kellie over at Tickled Pink Stamps. Her name is Ivy and she is from the first collection of Lil Lolita stamps and can be found here.

Bonnie is available in more poses! I fell in love with her a while back and when Tracey said she was having more made up I couldn't wait! I love the five new stamps of Bonnie which you can find here! in digital format.

I have made a card for the release (which was today {8/9/10} however, australia land is waaaaay ahead of us in time scale so I couldn't post it in time as it wasn't dry in time). So I left it over night and have just taken some photos and here she is...

I've used papermania paper and ribbon and a velum with embossed glittered flowers on (not sure of the maker). Flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, brads are from a friend who is a technophobe :o) I used Copics to colour her in and added some glamour mist to the flowers.

Ladybug Card and an update

Good morning... Well its Wednesday morning and all being well I will be at work and this will have come up as I've scheduled it for 8am - (fingers crossed)

I've been missing in action due to work. I'm leaving home before 7am and sometimes not getting back till after 6pm and this is every week day - I am so tired (it will soon be some weekends too). I never thought it would be possible to be more tired than I feel at the moment and I was working shifts including night duties, suffered with life threatening anaemia, and had a baby to look after too, but this is so much worse lol. I get in from work, play with Poppy, chat with Stephen then I have to collapse on the bed and sleep - I'm sure once I get back into a routine it will be all good, but at the moment my energy levels are kaput!

I've made a card for Ladybug and Friends - I am so loving these stamps. Elisabeth Bell has and does design for some amazing companies and Ladybug and Friends is one of them. The fluidity she has on making the images so sweet and lovable is amazing.

I've used 'A Letter For You' Stamp, and papers by Ladybug and Friends from the Spring has Sprung collection called One Special Day. The Gardenia is from Ladybug and Friends which is handmade and before I secured it to the card I spritzed it with glamour mist. The lace, pearls, roses, and head pins are from my stash. Image was coloured with Copics.

The photo isn't great but if you look closely at the edges you might be able to see some detail - I dabbed some Rock Candy Distress Paint around the edges which gives a lovely effect with the light hits it.

I'm hoping at some point to get in to the craft room again and get some cards made. I've been meaning to play along with Kenny K's Krafty Girlz Challenges, The Sugar Bowl and some Sketch Challenges and I've just not got round it them... Hey Ho - I guess I gotta make a living (especially to feed my craft addiction hehe!)

Kellie is celebrating many things, some of which she is keeping to herself at the mo, but she has reached 550 followers and her store Tickled Pink Stamps is becoming one of the best places to buy magnolias and other gorgeously gorgeous stamps like the Lil Lolita stamps, The Grettings Farm and CC Designs to name a few.

DISAPPOINTED is an understatement at the moment. It arrived yesterday morning, I looked at it last night and chucked it down on the desk - I really do not like it. Any of them I just can not see me using for any occasion! I think there are three stamps in the whole collection (or those which are showing on Crafts U Love) which I do like. I dont mind the sea horse in the kit but thats about it... I dunno if I'm going off Tilda or just having a bad day haha

Will be selling soon on Ebay either singles or set not sure which. So not a happy bunny - wish I'd kept my money!

Ladybug Design Team - Christmas In July!

Hello - Gosh I thought I'd scheduled this post to go 'live' at 9am like the one over on the Ladybug and Friends Design Team's Be Creative blog and it didn't happen - So please forgive me!

Job Update - Had my first day today - had a security talk/key talk which was very interesting. Got to know some of the team (knew some already). Have another day tomorrow which I will be shaddowing someone which will be fun. Thanks for the emails etc asking how my first day went - it went rather well.

Today over at Ladybug and Friends we are having a Christmas in July special...

You might be asking why I'm posting about Ladybug and Friends and that would be because I have been asked to me on the team - I'm so excited to be working on a team with exceptional talented crafters!

Spesch Stamps New Release

Well as its 10pm here in the UK and 9am over in Australia, AND its the 15th of the Month it must mean a new release at Spesch Designer Stamps

Today we see the introduction of some gorgeous seasonal fairies. Four in total, covering each of the seasons. I've gone for Spring and used Pinks and Greens!

Spesch is proud to introduce Kit - She is a new designer for Spesch Stamps who specialises in Mythical Fairies and Creatures and her drawings are amazing. You just have to check out 'Spring' to see that hehe!

I've used 'Spring' from the new Seasonal Fairies Release and coloured her in copics. I've used papers by Papermania which have recently been released and are called Summer Bloom. I added some sparkle (glamour dust) to the large dragonflies on the paper as they come without any glitz and as we all know - fairies HAVE to have some glitz. I added stickles for her wings.

Flowers are Prima and have been sprayed with Pearl glamour mist with a pearl brad to secure.

A little weavy (not mastered the hand held machine yet haha) stitching and job done!

Good Afternoon

I bought a magazine yesterday as the lovely Jo (aka Boots the Monkey) was featured in it (pg 64/65) with some gorgeous cards. The Magazine is Cardmanking and Papercraft, which came with a free pad of papers by My Minds Eye part of the Quite Contrary set. Very summery. So I thought I'd use them today for this card.

I've made this card to fill three challenges. I wanted to play with a Greetings Farm Stamp for Anyone for Anya and was lacking inspiration, and so I went in search of some Challenges. I found two more:

I've used Amelia from the 'My Favourite Things' set from The Greetings Farm (Sentiment from same set) which I bought from Quixotic Paperie for my birthday with a gift voucher a lovely blog lady gave me. Coloured her with copics (listed below) and used some freebie papers that came with a magazine a wee while back - I believe they are My Minds Eye papers - 'Pretty Please' if I remember correctly - I lost the front cover.

Flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the tulle bow I made (I think the tulle I picked up from local haberdashery store). The stitching I have done using a hand held sewing machine - I'm not very good at it, thus the wonky lines haha!

Stamp Something with a Kenny K image!

Well I've made a card hehe! Been a while, but I've sat down this evening after been out all day and thrown together a quickie. I've been to the cinema today to watch Eclipse - the third instalment of the Twilight Saga. I'm now counting down the months for Breaking Dawn. What an amazing film. I so want to go and see it again! I've read and reread the books and watched Twilight and New Moon over and over and I'm still undecided as to who's team I should be on - Team Edward or Team Jacob? I guess I'l sit on the fence a little longer - No harm eh?

I've babbled long enough - I guess I should show you my card.

I'm entering this into Stamp Something which is to use colours which can be found in your own country's flag - Well the Union Jack is Red, White and Blue. I know baseball is played in the U.S.A but if you go back in history the Americans adapted Baseball from our own game of Rounders - so in a round about way, baseball is English - kinda haha!

I'm sure you've seen some cards bobbing around Blog Land with images by Kenny K? If you you've not seen them can I direct you to Donna's blog here Donna and Kenny have been working together for sometime to bring the images to us all, and also starting up a challenge blog. The team has been picked (I didn't enter as I dont have the time for more DT's {Not that i'd of made it of course with amazing talent out there, esp after seeing the team which has been chosen}), and the challenges start on July 11th. I've coloured him in copics and used NO patterned paper. The homerun sentiment is a rub'on which I found in The Works today for a really cheap price of .24p. The baseballs, stars, 'slugger' and the baseball bat were also rub'ons from the set I've also used my star and labels Eight Nesties.

A gift from a very special friend!

As you all know (from previous posts) it was my birthday in June and I was away on holiday for that week. Well my good friend Donna sent me a lovely package for my birthday and she even sent it to my parents house as she knew I was going to be away from home for my birthday.

I thought I'd show you what Donna made and sent me. Its beautiful and in the photo you can just pick up some shimmer but it sparkles in the sunlight, very pretty.

Just want to say another MASSIVE THANK YOU to Donna for making me a lovely drawer box which contained some gorgeous bright cherry blossoms and Liquid Pearls in white and pink (never used this before, very exciting), some roses and more cherry blossom flowers, a gorgeously cute House Mouse stamp with Jelly Beans which will go brilliantly with another of my House Mouse stamps! Not forgetting my beautifully made envelope card complete with three very sweet Tilda's!

Anyone for Anya meets Colour Create Challenge

I'm recovering well from my surgery last week. I've walked into town and back and even driven the car so I'm improving rather well, even if I do say so myself.

I saw the Gp yesterday and it wasnt my regular one as she retired last week, but another partner in the practice. When I asked him for a sick note for two weeks he said it was more than reasonable and asked if I wanted more time off hehe. I think with everything I've been through, less time is good. I need to get back into the swing of things as soon as!

I've made a VERY QUICK card this evening. My mojo is somewhat lacking, so I apologise.

Thank you to everyone who left me lovely get well messages and good luck vibes.

I had the surgery first thing yesterday morning and was out of theatre by half 10. I would have been allowed home yesterday but I'd had a drain inserted to help drain away blood and washout from the surgery (YUK). I didn't really want to bring the drain home with me, esp with the chance of Pop's pulling on it or jumping on my stomach ha ha!

The drain was removed this morning and I got home around lunch time. I've watched DVDs and snoozed most of the afternoon. Making up for lost sleep last night with 'Mr Nightmare Patient' who was loud and annoying the other patients at 4am this morning, grrr.

Here's to a smooth recovery and NO MORE SURGERY!!!

Argh - Today is the Day!!

I'm just about to leave for the hospital - I am a little nervous - almost more than what I was when I had major surgery to remove some of my bowel due to Cancer in 2008... I hate having anaesthetics. They make me all weepy.

My mojo has up and gone recently and I've been blogging this morning and while sat at my desk I saw some new stash I bought for my birthday and a wee package I was given a little while ago and they were all screaming for me to play.

I'm entering this card into three challenges

Anyone For Anya ~ Fabulous Flowers

Basic Grey ~ Colour Combo (Brown, Cream and Turquoise)

Stamp With Fun ~ A Sketch

Its my first time playing with Basic Grey and also Anyone for Anya so I'm hoping they like my card.

Papers are Basic Grey Cappella which fits nicely with the Brown and Cream them and the dress and flowers on Miss Fleur here are bluey turqoise (Its as near as I could get with the old DI's).

The Rose is from Wild Orchid Crafts and the Prima flowers are a mix of my own stash and those which I was given in a very nice package from a lovely lady recently (which also included the papers and the pearl brads).

I've added some Glitter to her flowers and also some Rock Candy by Ranger to the rose, but it doesnt show very well.

Just before I go - What do you think of my daughter??

Sir Stampalot Challenge and a quick update

Before I show you my card I'l get the update out of the way now...

I'm having an operation (Cholecystectomy - simple terms - Gall Bladder removal) on Thursday due to the Chemotherapy I had last year and I've been trying to get ahead of things, but with having visited my parents and then having them come to me for a week, its kinda gone out the window haha. So I'm WAY WAY behind on my DT work for Spesch Designer Stamps, Di's Digital Downloads and Bearly Mine Designs. Oh my!

I have loads of catching up to do, especially as I only have two and a bit weeks to recover from my operation before I start a new job. I handed my notice in at work due to me being unable to cope with being around Cancer Patients who are dying or who have been just diagnosed as it was just too close to home.

There was also an incident on the ward which flipped a switch in my head and I just couldnt work there anymore so I applied for a job thinking the application would be good practice and then they offered me an interview - I was so shocked. I went along for experience not really thinking they'd offer me the job but they did. So as of July 12th I will be a Prison Nurse. I'm so looking forward to it!

Its been a busy June so far, but I'm looking forward to watching Wimbledon after Thursday - Catching as much as possible now while working my last days at work and then being off for two weeks recouping I will be able to enjoy the matches and then the final. Whoot Whoot. Not to mention crafty time if I can bare to sit for long enough.

Ok - My card. Its a fairly simple one but its so suitable for Sir Stampalot Challenge which this month is

Punch It Out!!

I've used a Lili of the Valley stamp Baby Blanket from the new release and I just love her/him! So versatile.

I've punched out 'Abigail' with my new Rainbow Alpha Set from Quickuts, mid line border is MS Heart Lace Border punch and the circle and scallopped circles are my Nestie shapes.

Image coloured with Distress Ink, and I've kept it so simple, just because its a baby card and less fuss sometimes looks beautiful in itself.
